The Revit Technology Conference is an annual event designed to cater to the needs of the Revit-based CAD community. Running over two and a half days, this is the premier opportunity for training, networking, and general socialising with your peers in the fastest growing CAD environment in the world – Autodesk® Revit®.
With an expanded subject stream, including beginner and advanced classes for many subjects, this year promises to be bigger and better than the last. More attendees, more sponsors, and a very special event on Saturday evening, combined with a truly stunning locale, make this a not to be missed event.
The second annual conference is to be held October 26 - 29, 2006 at the Shoal Bay Resort and Spa, Shoal Bay, New South Wales.
You can now register the conference. Also remember to keep checking back in for updates posted
in RUGs Forum.
If you have any questions, please email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Professional Development Points
The Revit Technology Conference qualifies for both formal and informal points under the education schemes mandated by both the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) and the Building Designers Association (BDA).
We will add more information on point values and method of claim in the next few days…
Following on from the very successful competition held at last year’s event (won by Charles Glanville Architects for their Matryoshka presentation), this year’s competition has been expanded to offer two major prizes, for presentation and for documentation work.
|Presentation: Sponsored by Autodesk
Prize: NFR copy of any piece of Autodesk software
In the presentation section we are looking for examples of work demonstrating the best of presentation techniques in Revit. Note that this does NOT necessarily mean rendering! Layout, proportions, and most importantly, the successful conveying of your message are all vital to a quality presentation. Work can be a single image or a page layout; rendered, shaded, or other format images; or anything else that centres around presenting your work to others.
|Documentation: Sponsored by Hewlett Packard
Prize: HP xw4400 Workstation
This section is intended to showcase 2D documentation / annotation work carried out within Revit. As the penetration of Revit into the marketplace increases, and we see more projects in construction or completed, the importance of the 2D tools in Revit are growing rapidly. Here is your chance to demonstrate your mastery of these tools, and win a complete workstation solution from HP, the market leader in CAD hardware solutions.
The competition will be judged by your fellow delegates and awarded on the basis of the 'best' Revit work. Remember: ALL WORK MUST BE PRODUCED ENTIRELY IN REVIT!
Please provide your entry as a maximum of 2 x A3 sheets, preferably portrait orientation, with any information that identifies you or your company either blanked out or removed (we will not accept entries with identifying information on them). Your entry will be given a number, and this will be used on the judging forms distributed to all the delegates for voting. Entries can be submitted from Thursday morning, but no later than registration on Friday morning. Please do not vote for your own work, or work from your company! Please also provide an electronic copy (in jpeg format) of the submission so that we may include it in the slideshow that will be running on an ongoing basis in the breakout room.
