Do you wonder why you would attend a technology conference?
We believe that for anyone working in design or construction or as asset owners and managers, we can no longer ignore the fact that technology is a key part of designing and constructing buildings and infrastructure – and the pace of change and new technological advances will only get faster. Whatever your role, you need to have some understanding of what technologies are available and what they can do – even if you are not ‘hands-on’ with all the tools. Technology no longer encompasses just CAD or even just BIM, but includes tools for virtual reality, smart buildings, asset management tools and apps as well as project information management.
While our focus at BILT is around technology, we also realise that a key part of implementing new technology is leadership. We aim to promote leadership and supports the professional and personal growth of our attendees by including a wide range of non technical sessions on change management, business strategy, procurement and other non-technical topics that support our industry to mature.
This year, we have put together a suggested program for those not interested in specific software packages, but who want to know more about strategic implementation of technology on their projects and in their businesses. Headlining this topic, is our keynote speaker, Ashraf Habibullah who’s keynote presentation “Introduction to Human Engineering” will teach you why the success of your project is only in a small measure attributable to technical skills, and more so in relation to your ‘human engineering’ skills.
