It’s the week we’ve all been waiting for. We’ve arrived here in Porto and are looking forward to a fantastic week of conferencing. Have you arrived in Porto? Tweet us @RTCEvents with your pictures and make sure to tag #RTCEUR. We’ll retweet the best ones!
What are you most looking forward to at the conference? Are you attending BCS Europe 2016 or RTC Europe 2016 or both? Get chatting with us @RTCEvents. As always if you have any questions whilst on site, feel free to approach one of the RTC staff members for assistance.
If you’re arriving in to Porto on a plane, taxi fare should cost you no more than €20 going to either hotel. Whilst if you’re arriving into Porto on a train, whether it is at the Sao Bento Train Station or at Campanha Train Station, the cab fare should cost you no more than €15.
On the off chance, that you haven’t set out on your journey to RTC Europe yet, the weather gods have had a change of heart and the forecast now suggest a bit of wet weather and possibly a storm on Saturday 22nd October. Go forth and go prepared.
In case you missed the Event Reminder email, here is some useful information to keep on hand. For those arriving into Porto either today or tomorrow for RTC Europe 2016, we highly recommend that you make use of the Registration Desk opening hours on Wednesday 19th October to avoid the rush on Thursday morning. You’ll need your name badge at all hours whilst at the conference venue and when attending any social functions. The registration desk will be open during the following times at the following locations on Wednesday:
Wednesday 19th October 11:30 – 12:30 Porto Palacio Hotel & Spa
Wednesday 19th October 12:45 – 13:45 Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa
Wednesday 19th October 14:30 – 17:30 Alfândega Congress Centre
If you’re attending BCS Europe, the registration desk will open at 07:45 at the Alfândega Congress Centre. To make things easier, if you’re attending BCS and RTC Europe, your RTC registration materials will be distributed during your BCS registration on Wednesday morning.
There are looping shuttles that have been organised to and from the conference accommodation hotels and the conference venue. Again, for BCS, the first shuttle departs at 07:20am from the Sheraton making its way to the conference venue via Porto Palacio at 07:30. This will get you to the conference venue by 08:10am.
The RTC Europe shuttles, proudly sponsored by Xinaps, will commence at 07:00 on Thursday morning. More information regarding the RTC Europe shuttles can be found in the Conference Handbook. Make sure you keep that close to you at all times.
We have a fantastic week ahead and we can’t wait to welcome you all to Porto. If at any time you need assistance, do not hesitate to approach one of the RTC Events staff, we’ll be more than happy to help out.
See you around!
