Data Day Keynote Speaker(s) announced!

The Data Day committee are thrilled to announce not one, but two keynote speakers for Data Day! We’ve been in discussion with both for a while, and in the end felt compelled to NOT choose between them.  One plus one can be more than two, right?

Kimon Onuma is an architect, who, as a BIM user of over two decades, guides architects and owners into information-driven design.  His portfolio includes an impressive list of large scale U.S. government projects.

He founded Onuma, Inc. in 1988 and his system is a web-based tool that allows tech and non-tech-savvy users to collaborate in real time to generate data that drives BIM.

Kimon is the creator of BIMStorm, a 24-hour non-stop BIM event that brings together design professionals from multiple countries to collaboratively plan and design millions of square feet of buildings.

Kimon has presented at over 400 industry events, and authored numerous industry journals.

His approach focuses on agile, lean and implementable big ideas for all stages of the facility life-cycle. Kimon is Chair of Thought Leadership at the buildingSMART Alliance and served as the 2013 AIA TAP chair.

He is what we might call ‘data-savvy’; acutely aware of the value it can represent to multiple players in the AECO industry.  We look forward to welcoming Kimon as our opening keynote.
